Rock Chorus SingIt Back for the Luton and Dunstable HospitalRelease Date: 21 October 2011
In a star studded night, 120 Rock Chorus members shared the stage with rock legend Alvin Stardust; Local soul ladies Voices With Soul; The godfathers of world music Osibisa; The beautiful and talented founder of Rock Chorus Lauren Field; 80s legends Tight Fit; Bob Dylan tribute band Dylanesque and King of the Groove Mungo Jerry, to raise over £13,500 for the Luton and Dunstable Macmillan Cancer Unit.
Lauren and Charles organised “Sing it Back” to say thank you to the L&D following the outstanding care and treatment Charles received there this year after being diagnosed with bowel cancer. Rock Chorus members got right behind the fund raising initiative,
rehearsing hard and singing their hearts out on the night for a cause close to many people's hearts.
It was a simply rockin' evening - with a fantastic charity auction, a tombola with prizes donated by Rock Chorus members, a prize draw donated generously by our friends at Argos, and the opportunity for members to have their photos taken with all of the stars. The after party wasn't half bad either, with Denise Waterman from Tight Fit leading off the dancing.
Here's a few quotes from our members about the evening:
Tanya: Here's hoping the money raised reflects the fun everyone had on the night! Everyone involved should be very proud :-)
Gill: A fantastic night, well done everyone. More fun than I normally have standing up or lying down!
Clare: It was brilliant! Loved every minute of it and very proud to have been involved.
Janette : A stonking good night, like a non-stop party. all the bands were great fun too. looking forward to hearing how much was raised for the L and D. we'll have to go a long way to beat this night.
Debbie: An amazing concert that will be remembered forever - Watching everyone 'giving their all' for one of the greatest causes moved me more than words can ever say!
